Extreme Physics Day 3

We woke up bright and early this morning, ready to highlight and finish questions in the end of our journals, due to the fact that they would be taken in for marking. They were worth double points so they had to be good!

During the day, we had a challenge about ‘Galaxies and Exo-planets’. We found this challenging, but got three rosettes because of Alice’s super long graph! For this, we received rosettes for team work, achievement and our first [and last] creativity.

As you can see in this picture, we were in the lead by a large margin at this point, but as over 100 points were up for grabs that day, we had to still aim to do well…

We then had a final practice of our presentations, before sitting in the lecture theatre for the presentation. We were due to present second to last, so we had to sit through nearly everyone else’s first – not the best position to be in! We spoke about ‘HEAT AND TEMPERATURE’

However, presentations over, we went to lunch, and came back for the awards ceremony at 2.30PM. Every person was given a certificate of participation, and extra prizes such asĀ  rosette for Catmose College for ‘if in doubt, use glitter!’. Alice also got an ‘extreme physics’ chocolate egg due to her journal being one of the best.

However, it was then time to read out the final placings! We waited for the list of the top five, which were read out in backwards order. We were placed first, and as it turns out we won by a large margin, over 50 points, which was good!

We then picked up our luggage and went home. It has been an amazing weekend, and we’ve had so much fun!
